Fleeper

Using Unreal Engine 3 our team created this game for the final project class of the degree program. During this project I worked on the final level of the game and on quite a bit of the scripting that was done for the game. Most notably are the menu scripts and the restart on death scripts. I also did a lot of the testing for each level of the game to ensure that it was possible to get through each level without any glitches or bugs breaking the game's flow.

The level select screen was a lot of fun to work on and test. The way the background was set up made it really cool just to mess around in that area. Each level select box was set up by the person who created the stage. I created the very last stage and as such I got the honors of having the very last box.

The final level of the game went through several revision before it was at an acceptable difficulty. The rotating mechanic made the game more challenging that it was originally intended to be. It actually came about as a bug when we were working on getting just the level to rotate and we enjoyed it, so we modified the levels to fit the new mechanic. The falling spikes were unique to my level as I thought it would be interesting to have a falling hazard in the game. I ended up animating and coding the spikes to fall and disappear once they  hit the ground.

The final message of the game was a reference to the NES Pro Wrestling game that had the same grammar mistake. I discussed adding it with the team and they liked the idea so we put it in at the very end of the class just before we presented it. There is more we would have liked to do with the game, however due to time constraints for the class we decided it was best to focus on making what we had the best it could be.
