Scavenger Hunt

This is a mini game I created during my time at Full Sail. I was tasked with creating a mini game using Unreal Engine that that needed to be based on a common children's game. The game also needed to have a working on screen cursor and a HUD. I chose a scavenger hunt because I thought it would be an interesting challenge and it seemed like a somewhat unique idea.

The overall theme was jungle temple and I found this really cool totem in the assets and decided to use it as a center piece. I designed the rest of the level around it. In the game I had the player collect parts of a vehicle which were hidden in various areas around the level. My favorite hiding spot in the game was actually in the totem itself. I set a piece on the bottom of one of the mouths and it looked just like a tongue so it blended in really well.

Once all of the pieces were collected the player unlocked a cage that had a rocket launcher inside. In retrospect I wish I would have added a large open area outside of the play area so that I could have used the full drive-able vehicle as the prize for finding everything. Overall it was an interesting assignment and I learned a lot of new things during the course of development.
